Best Overall Tap Shannah Spry  
The England Team came Runner Up in the Country Award with Germany winning overall. However Germany had 300 dancers representing their county and England had approximately 60!

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement. All the dancers excelled in large sections and achieved highly against some of the worlds best dancers from Australia, Malaysia, Russia and many countries from right across Europe. The dancers represented England and Centre Pointe with pride and were so inspired by everyone's support and encouragement!

ISTD Janet Cram Awards 2011
Once again an incredible achievement of all the girls to excel at the ISTD Modern Dance Janet Cram awards. Centre Pointe Students have represented Centre Pointe at the Janet Cram awards for the past four years, each year improving on their National Finals successes.

ISTD Marjorie Davies Star Tap Awards 2011

Four students had a wonderful day at the Arts Depot, London competing in the annual ISTD Tap competition against some of the UK's best Tap Dancers. Huge congratulations to Olivia Holdin who came runner up in the Premier section and received a commendation for the choreography of her solo.

Georgina Ashworth Kwasnik Qualifies for the Semi Finals of the prestigious Young British Dance of The Year competition!

Out of 75 young dancers, Georgina was one of only two dancers out of 32 semi finalists who were not from the Royal Ballet School to reach the semi-finals, which is a major achievement, she was also awarded a scholarship to the English National Ballet School, Summer School, which she will attend this summer. Huge Congratulations Georgina!

Centre Pointe Graduate, Tierney Heap, now in her second year at the Royal Ballet School, reached the finals and was awarded a Commendation.

Melissa Braithwaite runner up at Ballet Championship

Melissa Braithwaite was placed runner up at the North East of England IDTA Senior Ballet Championship at the Tadcaster Festival

Graduate Matthew Koon once again on Sky 1's Got To Dance

Graduate Matthew Koon, currently training at English National Ballet School appeared once again on Sky 1's Got To Dance and performed as one of last years finalists. He then went on to appear at Move It, and was interviewed on Stage by the Royal Academy of Dance.

Mathew was also invited to perform in Taiwan as part of their Chinese New Year Celebrations and performed in front of 10,000 people at a large arena in Taipei. You can watch Matthew Performance here.

Emily Newman finishes filming the ISTD New Tap Syllabi DVD

Emily Newman has recently finished filming the ISTD New Tap Syllabi DVD in London. She performs the new Grade 1 Tap Syllabus and enjoyed her two days of filming with other members of the ISTD.

Shannah Spry to dance at The World Irish Dance Championships Finals

Shannah Spry has recently qualified to dance at The World Irish Dance Championships Finals. These will take place in Dublin, Ireland over the Easter Break. We wish her the best of luck!

Dancers selected to perform in Dance World Cup 2011 Competition

Shannah Spry, Georgina Ashworth-Kwasnik, Meliss Braithwaite and Olivia Holding have been selected to perform in Dance World Cup 2011 Competition which will take place at EuroDisney Paris in June. The girls are training hard and are looking forward to representing England at this international event.
